Gone Home, a first-person adventure game created by The Fullbright Company tells an intriguing story using the details of a vacant house. Katie is a woman who returns to the house of her family to find it strange and empty. She finds clues to her sister’s life as she explores the home: riot-grrl mixtapes on VHS, The X-Files, a smear on the bathtub of red hair dye, and a pentagram made of chalk in a hidden area.
The house has a very immersive feel, and players can spend as much or as little time there as they like, without feeling hurried by the combat or puzzles. The story itself is touching and evocative, with characters that feel authentic to the world in which they exist.
Gone Home is a great first-person game, even though it’s not as experimental as Dear Esther and Proteus. Its story telling style makes Gone Home a worthwhile addition to the canon. It’s a powerful portrayal of teenage angst as well as family drama and mental illness. The story is one that players will remember long after the credits roll.

Open-world game with a huge backstory, and many characters to meet. It’s possible that those who haven’t played the first two Dragon Age titles will struggle to understand the storyline, as it heavily relies on their foundations. However, the majority of the exposition can be found in the Codex and optional dialogue options.
Inquisition is a game with a huge scope, but also a strong sense of intimacy. You can feel like you are making a real impact on the world. Character relationships are well-developed, whether they are squabbling across verdant fields or bickering inside dim caverns. Hearing Varric and Cole argue is one of the games’ pleasures.
Inquisition may have a few issues, such as a base villain that isn’t very interesting (although BioWare has addressed this with their post launch content), and combat that seems designed for games half the size. However, on the whole, Inquisition’s RPG is just right.

Pyre, from the makers of Bastion & Transistor offers a fresh take on fantasy. It’s set in a purgatorial fantasy world called the Downside that’s home to tree people, fox-like creatures, and worms. The characters that join your group, such as Rukey, the loud “cur”, and Ti’zo, the drive-imp who only communicates through sound, make it seem less one-dimensional.
The Rites are the core game features. It’s a quasi religious tournament where your 3 person team competes against another. The time required to achieve freedom gets shorter each time you win a Rites. You’ll often have to choose between focusing on improving your team or pushing yourself in battle. The choices you make add up to make each victory more meaningful.
The visual design is beautiful, combining elements of pioneering and fantasy. The soundtrack by Supergiant Games is also strong, with Darren Korb dipping into a wide range of genres to represent each team (the Downsideers have an old-timey jazz theme, while the Nightwings have a thrasher tune). Pyre is a fascinating new twist on fantasy gameplay and storytelling.

Hades is a great, engaging game that has a snappy, addictive gameplay. It also features enchanting characters and a beautiful score. Although the randomness of the genre makes it difficult to find the kinds of climactic scenes that are characteristic of traditional stories, the game is still enjoyable in its own right.
The character designs are layered with depth. Jen Zee, the art director (Bastion Transistor Pyre), has given each god and goddess a distinct style which makes them standout from one another. Hades himself is intimidating and commanding, while Nyx and Megaera are aloof and regal. Cerberus the three-headed dog is another character that’s hard to categorize.
The graphics have a lot of detail to them and look sharp, especially on current generation consoles like the Xbox Series S Hades is a roguelike that sets a new bar for the genre with its beautiful visuals and engaging storyline. This roguelike, developed by Supergiant games, is a must for any fan of roguelikes. This release also supports 4K, which brings an extra layer of clarity to the action as you navigate through the shifting halls of Tartarus, Asphodel, and Elysium.

After a string of critically acclaimed dramas like Mad Men and Breaking Bad, AMC was looking to branch out into more adult fare, and it found what it was seeking with The Walking Dead. The show portrays the life of survivors in the months and even years after a zombie outbreak. Sheriff’s deputy Rick Grimes, played by Andrew Lincoln, is the leader of an elite group of survivors. The series stars the sheriff’s deputy Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) as the leader of a group of survivors.
The Walking Dead features plenty of munching-on-entrails and stabbing-that-shambler-in-the-eye-socket violence, and its characters grapple with the nature of humanity. The Walking Dead has moments of romance and dark humor. Although there are few restrictions on sexualized gore or language, the series is still full of them.
