Gay character customization games

The video games of the past have been an outlet for expression. The players can take control of their characters as they go into adventures that wouldn’t be possible with any other type of medium. From establishing a brand new city, to overcoming the ultimate boss, they are able to do it all. They’re an art form, a kind of art, and should be treated as such. It’s important that the developers incorporate in their games characters that reflect a variety of different people and perspectives. This is inclusive of queer and minority groups disabled people, and so on.Gaming companies have made huge leaps in the direction of inclusion. Companies like Bethesda and Ubisoft have taken bold and business risks by slowly introducing LGBT characters to their games. Characters like Tracer Soldier:76, Tracer, and many more have been included in well-known multiplayer shooter Overwatch. This has proved that the risk has paid back. The addition of these characters has made players feel that Overwatch is more relatable, and also has more depth due to their inclusion.

Fire Emblem has been praised for including characters of diverse backgrounds, such as a large number of LGBTQ characters.Mass Effect, released in 2007, was one of the major milestones for LGBTQ inclusion in video games. Games with character customization and romance

Recent games, such as Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, have featured LGBTQ characters who aren’t defined solely by their sexuality. Xenia is the bisexual pirate character is a stunning and confident pirate. She doesn’t show any signs of repression. Her inclusion in the game was a welcome break from the usual portrayals of LGBTQ characters in games. In a similar way in the coming BioWare title Dragon Age: Inquisition includes the option for the player to fall in love with V who is transgender or non-binary. It’s an option that is completely voluntary, but BioWare has decided to make their games inclusive.

These games show that LGBTQ inclusion in gaming is not just possible but also highly desirable. They help normalize LGBTQ relations, eradicating bigotry and hatred. It’s up to the players to select games featuring LGBTQ characters that are a reflection of their personal interests and identity. We urge our students and teachers to take part in these games and to seek out even more games which are inclusive.
